I am about to head out for a mid-day trip to Broadway Panhandler N.Y. Cake for the last of the wedding cake supplies. I will have the following nearly nonsensical shopping list on my person:

That weird floating Escher cake sketch is going to taunt me, I know it.
I drew this up last night with a glass of prosecco in one hand. From this point forward you can expect 4 a.m. camera phone updates and manic commentary at best. I’m goin’ in…
Update: N.Y. Cake is amazing and some day I want to go back when I’m not insanely rushed and perhaps not sweating quite as profusely.

An entire wall of wedding cake toppers!
Toppers are verboten for the cake I’m working on now… I will have to come up with excuses to stick plastic people into future cakes. You’re a man and it’s your birthday? You might be seeing one of these lovely ladies soon.
I can’t wait to taste it. :)
Wow! You’re beautiful and brilliant(your poetic writing!) and clever AND you can make wedding cakes?! I’m awed (but not shocked).
I love the idea of cake toppers on other types of cakes- makes me laugh and makes me think….
You’re incredibly kind, thank you Kathleen!
Yes, cake topper possibilities are really endless… I’ll have to go back to NY Cake for reconnaissance and so I can share photos of some of the more inspirational ones. Reclining beefcake with beer can in red speedo, anyone?
can’t wait to read more.
B.C met Sunday night for dinner (go figure!) — and your blog and your cake were part of the discussion! I realized I had not been checking your blog — Kathleen is very dedicated, she reads daily!! So thought I better find it and have a look-see- read! So glad I did!!! Of course I had already seen pictures of your beautiful cake — and your beautiful person! – on the wedding day! Your mom had this great little device for showing all the photos your dad took… xoxo
